Chinese New Year 2026, A Return to Rhythm
Chinese New Year begins on February 17th, 2026.
It marks more than the start of a new lunar cycle. It is a threshold, a time of rebirth, renewal, and a gentle reclaiming of what is true.
To honour this transition, I've created a free workbook to accompany you through this season.
Why did I Create This?
Because celebrating new beginnings in the deepest part of winter has never felt natural to my body.
I've traveled often in Asia, regions where the New Year follows nature's rhythm, not an arbitrary calendar date. Chinese New Year in February, Songkran in Thailand in April, Nyepi in Bali marked by silence and stillness, Nowruz celebrated in Iran at the spring equinox.
These traditions understand something we've forgotten in the West: new beginnings align with nature, not timelines imposed on us.
Winter is a yin time. A time for softness, rest, digestion, and integration. My body has taught me this again and again and when I try to force myself into January productivity mode, my system speaks clearly: This isn't aligned.
So I created this workbook for those of us who feel the same.
What's Inside?
This is not a guide for intellectual understanding alone. It is an invitation into embodiment, feeling and integrating ancient Chinese wisdom through the lens of nervous system awareness and lived experience.
Inside, we explore:
- Why this moment matters, and why you may be sensing the need for a slower, more aligned pace
- The meaning of Chinese New Year and what this threshold represents energetically
- An introduction to the Five Elements, foundational to many Asian philosophies, and how these elements live within your own system
- The transition from the closing of the Snake year into the Fire Horse of 2026, and what this shift invites
- Five embodied practices to support your movement from winter's stillness into spring's awakening
This workbook weaves ancient Asian wisdom with modern nervous system understanding and embodied work. It's also something you can share with your community, your circle, or anyone who feels ready to align with natural cycles instead imposed timelines.
Take your time with it, there is no rush. Let it unfold as it needs to.
